The Wedding Blog

Well, we are less than a month away from the wedding and things are coming together nicely! We are working on finalizing housing and honeymoon plans currently. Thank you to everyone for the RSVP’s that have been coming i…we love to see everyone’s responses.

Whew! We opted to print and cut and mail the invitations ourselves, as I had the printers, cutting board, and knew what kinds of materials to get. With the savings, it made sense in the end to do this, but it did take some time!  It also gave a chance to work on something with family and friends — we really appreciate everyone helping out with this part!  Fortunately, the locations, vendors, hotels, etc. are all shaping up.  Dana met with the caterer today and will meet with the cake baker tomorrow, so she definitely has her “plate full” — sorry I had to!

While Dana drove home last night we talked about registries since some people have graciously given gifts already, and so the registries needed tweaking.

Dana was able to get the flowers figured out today and nicely even offered to get the ones for the guys to help me out!

Now it’s time for website updates as the RSVPers will be reviewing the website (UPDATE:  Added feature to find locations by inputting your address!).   Earlier today “Our Story” was updated.

We are less than 5 weeks away and it gets more exciting all the time! Mom and I met with the caterer today and got some things squared away. Dez went with me to Toledo and we got the rest of the flowers for us girls’  bouquets, the guys’ flowers, and the mom’s flowers. WooHoo! Now we need a place to live and I need a job…one step at a time. We look forward to seeing everyone at the wedding  or the receptions! –Dana

Well, this is the first time I, Dana, have posted a blog to our site. I have spent some time in Colorado this week with my Grandma, mom, and sister. We visited my aunt and cousins (my uncle was there for just a couple hours before we left since he’s been in GA). While we were there I actually acomplished several wedding items!!! Yea! The Jr. Bridesmaid and Flower Girl got their dresses, the ring and cross bearers got meaured for thier tuxes, myself and the young girls got our headpieces, and I got my earrings for the wedding! YES! Anyway, thank you all for visiting our blog and taking an interest in our wedding details. Love, Dana

The look of the RSVP Cards appears to be completed — Dana was happy with them after I was able to work in a few similar features to the Invitation Cards. So, two down one to go with the Information Card the only one remaining.

The website is almost completed, as I’m working on the guestbook portion and that should put the necessary touches to launch. It’s trying to be tricky, but I’m not going to let the code get away with it. Just as Stephen Colbert putting “bears” on notice — YOUR ON NOTICE GUESTBOOK PAGE CODE!

We also found out that two of her co-workers like the white tux with the blue tie and blue vest combo, so needless to say, Dana was devastated! I also found out that it is more proper to have the same colored tie and vest, so it seems to be between the white on white,silver on silver, or blue on blue. Thanks for everybody’s imput — we’ll keep you all posted!

Well, yesterday we worked more on the Invitations (Dana liked the hearts better than diamonds) and we have yet to complete the RSVP cards and Wedding Info cards for the mailers.  About everyone has voted on the tux choice for the groom and so I am taking it all in and going to make a decision soon!  Today we get to hopefully complete the RSVP & Info cards so that Dana can get them sent out before/right after her trip to Colorado — yes she’s going to Colorado to get away from the wedding planning for a while!  hehe
